through the years for its classic elegance and durability. The tradition of

the most weather resistant wood in the world and is practically maintenance
free because it is such a hard wood.
Especially the teak wood from Java Our products of Teak chairs, tables,
benches, steamer, loungers and other design of furniture last for decades
through all weather conditions and a wide range of seasonal temperatures
without paint or preservatives. When the furniture is outdoors and untreated,
the sun and rain will change all colors to an even, warm, silvery grey. Teak
preservatives are available if you wish to maintain the warm amber color of the
wood. Be sure to use only products recommended especially for teak to treat
your teak patio furniture. Teak, a tropical hardwood, is saturated with a hard waxy oil substance that protects the wood from bugs, disease, mold and the effects of weather and the sun. What is Patio Furniture? The selection of patio and garden furniture available today
is almost as extensive as that of indoor furniture. You can choose from a
variety of different styles and materials – the options are endless. You’ll be
able to find the perfect furniture for your patio, whether you’re looking for
traditional or contemporary. Of course, you’re styles and tastes, your existing
patio and garden decor, climate, and budget will all influence your final
decision, but your local garden center, home and garden décor retailers, and
box stores will have something perfect for you. You’ll also need to consider
the surface of your outdoor space when choosing patio furniture. How To Choose Your Garden Furniture And Patio Furniture Before you buy any garden and outdoor furniture it is strongly recommended that you do some research. Doing so will greatly increase your chances of buying patio garden furniture that is right for you and will last you a long time. Following are some important tips you need to consider before you buy. Firstly decide whether you want stackable or foldaway furniture that will be put away in the shed or garage in winter or if you want permanent solid garden furniture that remains in situ all year round. If you want your garden furniture to be a permanent part of your garden for esthetic reasons then it is recommended that you go for heavy furniture made from hardwood, aluminum or wrought iron with rust proofing. It is well worth spending the money on the heavier more durable materials as this will be much more cost effective in the long run. Choosing the right type of material and construction is paramount. Decide what kind of material for your garden furniture would best compliment your patio or garden. Select a material that will stay in balance with your garden. TeakWood is the best all round as it is lightweight, esthetically pleasing and comfortable but requires some maintenance. Choose a tropical hardwood which is high in natural oil content like teak (Recomended). These woods are weather resistant and can be left outside throughout the year. Make sure that mortise and tenon joints are used for your teak garden furniture (outdoor patio furniture) and not bolts which corrode. If any metal fittings are used in the construction make sure they are made from brass, stainless steel or aluminum which are corrosion resistant. Make sure the construction is only premium grade teak(Perhutani Indonesia) for our garden furniture, so any knots, cracks and other defects are eliminated before the timber is used to build the furniture. Additionally, Make sure your teak garden furniture (teak outdoor furniture) is kiln dried to optimise moisture content and ensure shape is maintained and cracks are eliminated. Teak garden furniture and teak patio furniture that is assembled using epoxy based glues tend to have the best performance and durability of all the types of joints as the epoxy resin used will not be affected by rain or frost. If your teak garden furniture becomes dirty it is easy to clean with warm soapy water and a scrubbing brush which will enable you to restore the beautiful silver grey weathered look. If required a pressure hose can be used at 60-80 bar [900-1200psi] at a distance of no less than 30cm. Once your teak garden furniture has weathered the colour will be enhanced by an annual scrub. A small amount of bleach added to the water will suppress any algae growth. Any stains and grease spots can be immediately removed by washing down using a light detergent then rinsing off with clean water as soon as they occur .However, this is not essential as nature will take its course over time. In dry weather small cracks will appear in the end of the grain timbers. This is natural and no action needs to be taken as when the moisture in the atmosphere increases the timber will return to its original condition. It is not necessary to use teak oil or varnish as these will not extend the life of your garden furniture and are purely cosmetic. However if you wish to preserve the as new appearance of your teak garden furniture the application of teak oil when the furniture is new will give a more lustre finish than leaving untouched. Please ensure you follow the manufacturer's instructions as usually this is a three stage process. Make sure the timber is completely dry when you apply the teak oil, otherwise the furniture will blacken. Finally, if you can, it is recommended that you invest in a cover for your garden furniture. Covers now come in all shapes and sizes and are well worth the money as they add years to the life of your garden furniture. Simply place the cover on your garden furniture every evening or when it rains, you will see the benefits in the long term. TEAK LOUNGER - TECK LOUNGES - JAVANESE INDONESIE The Teak Sun Lounger is extremely comfortable, virtually weather proof, and built to last for decades without upkeep. If you are seeking the world’s greatest hammock for the world’s greatest dad, here it is. If you want an heirloom quality piece of outdoor furniture designed to last for generations, here it is. Extensive use of genuine teak and top quality of solid teak wood guarantees the exceptional durability of this unique product. These high quality materials are the same as are used for riggings and decking materials on world-class yachts. You can enjoy teak wood outdoors year round in hot, cold, wet, dry, even salty conditions. This is outdoor furniture at its finest. In addition to being Resort / Spa Quality, this Teak Sun Lounger will instantly become the focal point of any deck, patio, or relaxation area. This product has been described as the Hundred Year Hammock, “the last hammock you’ll ever have to buy”, and even referred to by one as “quite possibly the best hammock on the planet”! As wonderful and glowing as those descriptions are, the word hammock always seems to be an understatement. So now we prefer the term Teak Sling Lounger to more appropriately describe this newly created, patent pending wonder. The Sun Lounger is also super strong. No ropes are used in this product. Hundreds of pieces of teak are laced together by hand to assure flexibility, firmness, and most of all, comfort. In contrast, many wooden rockers, benches, and porch swings are comfortable, but they tend to be rigid. The Teak Sun Lounger is not rigid. It flexes in every direction, at multiple points, and yet does not stretch or sag. The Teak Sling Lounger maintains its shape even when weight is applied, so two adults can relax together without rolling into each other in the center. Teak is a tropical hardwood birch tree, also known as Tectona, which is grown on plantations in various areas of South East Asia including Indonesia. Teak trees reach a height of up to 150 ft and often can live up to 100 years if unharvested. Tree harvesting and conservation is strictly controlled by the government in these countries to ensure an adequate supply of high grade teak for furniture and other products. The best quality teak wood comes from trees at least 40 years old that have been drained of water for a period of 1 to 2 years. There are many processes involved in the harvesting of teak which must be performed under exacting conditions in order to produce high-quality teak wood for use in furniture. These are performed under the careful cooperation of tree plantations and the governments of teak producing countries. New, genetically improved teak woods and improved harvesting technologies are beginning to allow for faster processing of teak woods. What makes teak so special? It has many qualities that make it a superior wood for furniture. It is highly resistant to all kinds of weather. It contains naturally antibacterial qualities which make it highly resistant to decay and insects. Its fibers are elastic for woodworking ease, yet it holds it's form for many years, making it ideal for things like boat decks and furniture. Teak's heartwood contains a special oil which repels water and keeps it gleaming like new year after year. It maintains its strength and will not become brittle, even when left outside in the elements for years. Another characteristic of teak is its easy maintenance. In fact, depending on your preference, no special care is needed at all. After about 3 months of exposure, teak will begin to develop a "weathered" appearance that will continue for another 6 to 9 months. This gray patina appearance is a highly distinctive feature of teak wood that allows it to easily blend into any outdoor environment. If you prefer to keep your teak furniture its original golden brown, then simply apply a light coat of teak oil 3 times a year, or seal with a high-quality teak sealer once a year. If your teak furniture is kept indoors out of the sunlight from windows, you may notice it gradually turn slightly more brown within the first year. You may wonder if outdoor teak furniture is really a good investment. The answer is a resounding "yes!!" Despite careful conservation techniques and new technologies that may allow for faster harvesting of trees, demand for teak products continues to grow as people around the world discover its beauty and versatility. Prices will continue to rise as supply is unable to keep up with this increasing demand. All of our teak products utilize grade A, kiln dried teak, the finest in the world. What does this mean? Grade A means that there are no knots, cracks, imperfections or color variations in the wood. Kiln dried, means that the wood has been thoroughly dried for maximum strength and sturdiness. Rest assured, our teak furniture will continue to be a good investment as each year passes. How To Look After Your Teak Furniture Teak, a tropical hardwood found mainly in Southeast Asia, is extremely popular both for its natural beauty and its ease of maintenance. It is a naturally oily and very dense wood, making it highly weather resistant and, therefore, perfect for outdoor furniture. With just a little care and attention you will extend the life of your furniture ten-fold. Teak furniture can be washed with a mild mixture of soap and water and it is recommended that a soft utility brush be used to remove surface dirt and dust. The furniture must be rinsed thoroughly after cleaning and be allowed to dry completely. It is not necessary to heavily scrub or polish teak furniture ? you should be able to clean a chair, for example, in half an hour. Teak furniture does not require the application of wood sprays, preservatives or oils as it is naturally high in oil content. However, for some tastes, the slivery-grey colour that teak furniture develops as it weathers, may be too rustic and oil can be applied to create a full, rich surface sheen. Here are some tips for applying teak furniture oil: ? Ensure the surface is clean and free from dust ? Use true teak oil ? You must apply teak oil before your patio furniture begins to weather. If it has begun to weather, scrub your furniture with a stiff bristled brush and soapy water. Rinse as you go then allow the furniture to dry fully ? Your furniture must be completely dry, otherwise moisture trapped within the wood may cause black mildew spots to appear after oiling. Your furniture may take up to 48 hours to fully dry out after a rain ? Follow the instructions on the teak oil packaging for application. Generally, this would be to apply a light coating with a clean, lint free rag or paint brush. One coat should be sufficient Caring for Teak Furniture It really isn't all that necessary to protect teak furniture. Teakwood is genuinely exclusive in the fact that if you leave it in its inherent state, it genuinely doesn't require any care. If you leave your teak furnishings outdoors 24 hours a day seven days a week 365 days a year and not have to worry about it, this is even if the climate conditions in your area are extreme. It is because of this that people really love outdoor teak furnishings. While it's true that teak will turn a gray color when left in the sun for prolonged periods of time, this is natural and it doesn't harm any of the integrity of the wood. For people who want to preserve the inherent color of the wood that it has when they buy their furniture, it is a common practice to use a teak sealer. It is often used to help to give the teak wood a darker color as well. Not only will a teak sealer help to darken up your wood, but will it will also provide it with a UV protection as well as an anti-fungicide that will prevent mold and mildew from growing on it. It doesn't matter whether you're teak furnishings is old or new, you can apply teak sealants to them after they have been cleaned. These sealers aren't the same thing as glaze. All it does is act as a preservative for the wood while still allowing it to breathe and release its inborn oils. This application is not going to peel or bubble up on you like varnish will. These items both help to defend and stain your wood the color that you like. By standing your teak a darker color, you will be providing it with more UV protection, and in the end you are going to have to stain it less. If you already have a piece of teak furnishings that has previously been varnished, then you will need to sand off all of the old varnish and either leave it organic or stain it afterwards. It is genuinely a pretty straightforward process to apply preservative to your teak furnishings. Try to make sure that before you put on your first coat that the piece of furniture has been sitting in the sun for a week or two which allows all of the wood grains to open up. You should apply the first coat by spraying it liberally and then rubbing it in with a rag. Be sure that you apply two coats, and make sure that you apply it everywhere. If you are applying the stain on any surface that you care about, then you need to make sure that you put something under your wood as you don't want to cause stain damage to anything you care about. You will need to apply the stain yearly after it has been washed with a mild detergent and water, but only to the surfaces that gets on After doing this to your furnishings you really have to do very little else to defend it. It doesn't hurt to wash your furniture every once in a while with a mild soap and water to remove any normal soiling. If you spill anything on the sealant, like coffee, wine, or foods that stain, you need to make sure that you get it off immediately as these things can penetrate through the sealer and leave stains on your furniture. They do make a teak clear coat that you can apply to services that might be in danger in order to improve the resistance to staining. Teakwood is naturally pretty impervious to water because of the oil that is contained naturally inside of it. These natural oils leach out of the wood, and because of this it isn't a good idea to put varnish or water sealers on any teak product. If you do you can be assured that it will chip and peel off. This can really make a piece of beautiful furniture ugly. Contrary to what you might think putting oil on the teak isn't going to keep it from turning grey, and more often than not it will end up in causing your furnishings to mold or mildew. This again causes more work for you as you will need to wash the furnishings with bleach and soap and then sand the surface. If you like to entertain people outdoors or spend any time outdoors just relaxing, then teak outdoor furniture is an excellent investment for you. It adds a classy look to any yard. In order to defend your investment in is vital to know how to take care of it. Now that you know what you need to do to take care of your teakwood furnishings, it is time to look at purchasing something hot.
